This series is intended for Education Officers in USAID partner countries and implementing partners who are designing and managing new activities, evaluations, and/or research efforts.

Higher education institutions must continually adapt to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. These three case studies show how three universities served as central actors in crisis response and in locally-led development.

The landscape map identifies the actions taken by higher education systems and higher education institutions in select USAID partner countries to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on students, institutions, communities, and countries.

USAID has developed the Higher Education Program Framework. The framework is one of several new HE resources being released by the Center for Education to inform USAID higher education program design, implementation, and strategic planning. 

When students return to education, they may feel fear or anxiety regarding the pandemic. Educators will need to deploy existing skills in new ways and/or develop new skills to overcome such adversity and continue to thrive.

Before we move into 2020, we wanted to take a look back at what education looked like in 2019.
