Each of the case studies examines, describes, and analyzes the specific localized processes and decision-making of education system stakeholders from March 2020 to April 2021.

When students return to education, they may feel fear or anxiety regarding the pandemic. Educators will need to deploy existing skills in new ways and/or develop new skills to overcome such adversity and continue to thrive.

Before we move into 2020, we wanted to take a look back at what education looked like in 2019.

The challenge of youth unemployment in low and middle-income countries is well-known. This topic was front and center at the Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit supported in part by USAID and held in Washington D.C. from October 1-4.

Many providers now run programs to bridge the gap between young jobseekers and paychecks. Initiatives range from small, local efforts to bold, worldwide initiatives. One of the more ambitious youth workforce development initiatives is Generation.

The signing of Sudan’s Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) in January 2005 ended decades of civil war. The end of the war created favorable conditions in southern Sudan for the rehabilitation and development of basic social services, including education.
