Learning Activity for Cultivating Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environment (CISLE) Project in Jordan’s Schools
In 2013, USAID/Jordan funded the Queen Rania Teacher Academy to implement a multi-phase delivery of the CISLE Project. CISLE, a professional and community development activity, is aimed at training teachers, counselors, principals, and supervisors from Jordan’s public schools (grades 1-12) to promote safe and inclusive learning environments and provide psychosocial support to their students. As CISLE grew from 2013 – 2020, it expanded to a $6.66 million project across all 12 Jordanian governorates that broadened its focus from Syrian students to students of all nationalities, including students with learning or behavioral challenges.
USAID/Jordan contracted SI to conduct a Learning Activity for the CISLE Project. The Activity identified best practices in safe and inclusive learning environments and aimed to support USAID/Jordan to build on the lessons learned from CISLE’s implementation in Ministry of Education schools and to inform future educational interventions focused on safe and inclusive learning environments in Jordan’s schools.
