Who's Coming Back to School? Tools to Monitor Return to Learning
While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve across the world, schools are reopening and re-engaging learners. To ensure an equitable and inclusive return to learning, families, schools, and education systems are implementing various strategies to mitigate risks and respond to the needs of all learners. As children return to the classroom for a new school year, which children are actually returning, and more importantly, which are not?
This USAID/Leading Through Learning Global Platform webinar will introduce the Return to Learning during Crises Toolkit. This toolkit is designed for education practitioners to monitor the number of children and youth participating in education, whether in-person, virtual or hybrid.
This interactive webinar will train USAID staff and partners to use USAID’s Return to Learning during Crises Toolkit to 1) identify barriers and strategies to (re)engage the most marginalized; and 2) monitor (re)enrollment. At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- List at least three tools or strategies used to monitor which children are returning to some form of schooling
- Explain how the tools 1.1 and 1.2 in particular in the Return to Learning during Crises Toolkit work and their purpose
- Ask and respond to questions that can help monitor and track which children are returning to school
- Consider when and how they can use the Return to Learning during Crises Toolkit in their work as the school year starts
During the last 30 minutes of the webinar, join us for the exciting relaunch of the USAID Education in Crisis and Conflict Network (ECCN). We will share information, request your input on strategic topics and priority products for the sector and answer questions.
