RISE Annual Conference
RISE is a large scale, multi-country research programme developed to answer the question: “How can education systems be reformed to deliver better learning for all?” The RISE Programme Annual Conferences bring together high-profile academics and policy makers for two days of lively debate.
In many countries, children now have access to schooling but learning profiles are too shallow - the learning crisis. The 2018 RISE Conference presented in-depth diagnoses of why education systems are failing to deliver adequate learning. It also featured preliminary insights from research into how these system-level incoherencies might be fixed. Presentations drew on research undertaken in the six RISE countries: Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Vietnam.
