Math Power Virtual Festival Series: Africa Regional Event
The Math Power! Virtual Festivals will feature high-quality technology and non-technology-supported initiatives, partnerships, research, and institutions advancing math instruction in formal and informal educational settings in developing country contexts. Festival presenters and attendees will include a mixture of global and local math “champions”, policymakers, educators, public and private sector organizations, investors, and the general public. Essentially, those interested in sharing and extending a love of math.
The first of a series of virtual Math Power! Festivals will be held in Africa the week of March 14th 2021.
Additional Festivals in 2021 will be held in Latin America, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific regions. The festivals will include a mixture of international, regional, and national presenters and participants. Based on presenter submissions, we will determine the best fits for regional virtual festival participation.
Working closely with regional and national education and math association representatives, these virtual festivals will be organized as a mixture of pre-recorded and live presentations. As with all prior Symposia events, we’ll also feature highly participatory and engaging formats to maximize knowledge-exchange and networking opportunities.
