How Data Informs the Journey: History and the Next Steps of Early Grade Reading

Please join USAID’s Bureau for Asia and RTI to reflect on the journey of early grade reading around the globe. This event is designed for attendees to explore data of their own choice using the Early Grade Reading Barometer.

The first presenter will discuss the introduction of national scale early grade literacy assessments and how the findings informed countries and their donor partners.

The second presenter will discuss the advent of early grade reading programs, using the EGR Barometer to explore the impact of these programs.

By reflecting on research and experience, the final presenter will suggest the next steps on this journey to improve early grade literacy worldwide.

Participants in the event will have the opportunity to use the EGR Barometer to explore large-scale early grade literacy assessments and consider the impact of early grade reading programs.
